Even with biking you need to be careful with the heat as it can kind of sneak up on you!

We don't generally wear helmets here though unless you are on a race bike or a super fast electric bike. We have a fabulous infrastructure for biking and while accidents can happen they don't happen that often. Today I rode on one of the many "Bicycle Highways" and it was amazing just ride through without stoplights or cars or crossing of any kind! Getting older I find always tougher running in summer. This is the 3rd year in a row that I had to stop my workouts for some days because of a terrible weakness. So, as you say, I run slower and I keep the runs shorter; moreover I made the decision not to race until the heat has gone.
Good solution is also walking when the body doesn't want to run!Black Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02647151992793590141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5884362622170497685.post-18639080662319488112021-07-16T20:37:59.811-05:002021-07-16T20:37:59.811-05:00You have been a beast on the Peloton! Maybe you should consider it for your retirement. Since it's usually warm/extremely hot here, we just accept the heat and work with it. I will say that I'm one of those people with a high heat tolerance- my husband struggles with it more than I do. His rule is to never be running any later than 8 am in the hotter months.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08118496863906264340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5884362622170497685.post-48950032910874620042021-07-16T07:29:23.483-05:002021-07-16T07:29:23.483-05:00running in the summer is always a challenge for me...running in the summer is always a challenge for me! Last year I did so much walking, which usually happened in the middle of the day or in the afternoon. It can be nice to slow down and walking is great for us too. While its a bit cooler before the sun comes up, I think the humidity is usually worse, so it feels deceivingly hard.Lisa @ Mile by Milehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12739298325369206085noreply@blogger.com
