I am also running my first 2...I love your thoughts! I am also running my first 26.2 this November (Philadelphia Marathon). I have been running for almost four years and have completed three half marathons (will be four by the time of the full). I am by no means fast and over the years I've learned that the true competition is with myself...which is why I ended up signing up for the full. Running has changed me in so many positive ways! A few years ago I laughed at th...I'm with you! A few years ago I laughed at the thought of a marathon, no way. Now I'm training for my first marathon, Marine Corp Marathon in October. I'm starting to hit the part of training that is going to become more mental. Getting over the 13.1 mileage that I know I can do...and run it for training and NOT in a race, something I've never done before. We've got this!!
