I’ll get the party started…
If we were chatting over coffee, I’d begin with the deets of my May stats. Easily, this was the most miles in the running shoes, probably since last fall. Walking had a decent showing as well. And, the biking kinda sorta dominated, with several miles (finally) on the trail!
If we were chatting over coffee, I’d share a pic from Sunday evening’s full moon run. Mind you, this was merely 36-ish hours following the D2D 13.1 finish line. The night sky surprised me by being more clear than cloudy, so May’s Blue Moon was able to shine much brighter than expected. I was tentatively planning to do the run a day (evening?) later, but didn’t need to. Ironically, Monday’s evening sky was cloudy, LOL. I love it when the universe aligns to suit my craziness.
Speaking of full moon runs, if we were chatting over coffee, I’d share this Facebook memory from six years ago. I think this was actually only my second “official” full moon run. As they say, the rest is history.
If we were chatting over coffee, I’d ask if anyone else celebrated Global Running Day? I was already planning on running anyways, but it’s a perfect day to do what we all know and love…run!
So, that’s a quick peek into what’d I be sharing, over coffee.
I’m really looking forward to the summer season. After a somewhat dry and low-key winter (and early spring), I have plenty on the summer racing calendar. Stay tuned, there’s gonna be a lot of fun in the running shoes.
Enough about me, what’s happening in your world? Anything to share over coffee? Is your summer calendar filling-up with fun stuff also?
Since it's the first weekend of the month, I'm linking this with Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date

Great month of May for you, Kim, and I love that the weather has improved enough that you're able to get back outside on your bike. Also, what a beautiful sunrise behind you in your stats poster!
ReplyDeleteWow, six years of full moon runs? Full moons always make me wonder if you're running!
Have a great weekend!
Glad you're feeling good and looking forward to a summer of racing! It sounds like the hip issue is resolved, yay.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great full moon photo! So often the cloudy skies thwart you- glad you got a good one!
It is so nice to end the month feeling strong and motivated. I know you love this time of the year. Enjoy your warmer weather
ReplyDeleteDoes the Universe align to Kim's craziness or does the Universe cause Kim to align to the Universe's craziness? If you were looking for something to ponder during your next fitness activity, there's your topic.
ReplyDeleteI would share with you that Bikie and I had an Island day this week at Put in Bay! Biking is IMO the best way to get around our little islands, so I loaded the bike into the car, wheeled it on to the ferry, and then it was so easy to get all around the island. I literally got back to the ferry with one second to spare, and because of the bike I made it with no problem. If I had been on foot I would have had to wait for the next ferry - not such a big deal because they run every 30 minutes, but still it was nice to just wheel up and go.
It sounds like you have a fun summer ahead of you! I'm going to keep mine low-key and don't plan too much but I hope to get away to explore some local trails. My husband is training for his first ultra race so he will need to get on the trails. Other than that we have two gigs, and I have plenty in the garden to do. It should be a good summer!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a great summer planned! And look at the great May you had! June will be amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your race went well and your hip's feeling good! Enjoy your summer of racing - I know this is your season ;)
