How ‘bout a Coffee Talk

 

Things that make you go Hmmm.

Just like that, the summer-like feels have come to an abrupt halt. The hot beverages are within arms length. And I’m craving some chat time.

Shall we gather ‘round the virtual table, and have a virtual coffee talk? I’m game, so let’s do it!

If we were to gathered, warm mugs in hand…

I’d start with my October stats. Hmmm, the numbers were alright, but nothing stellar took place. Honestly, that is not a humble brag, nor is it a disappointment. I ran (because that’s what I do). I walked (as time allowed). I biked (mostly all indoor, ugh). I also snuck in core work, almost on the daily, as part of the Cortober Challenge. The mojo was there, but I just didn’t feel the need to over-do anything with the all the other non-fitness stuff I had contending for my time and attention (see below). 

Next, I’d share some pics of my latest hand-knit creation. I’d already designed and knitted “ugly” collegiate sweaters for the younger daughter (bottom left) and the son (bottom right). Well, I finally got around to finishing the third one in the series, this time for the older daughter (pictured at the top). I’d started it almost a year ago, then got sidelined with all the busyness of packing, selling one house, buying another, and moving. Whew! It feels great to have the third one done…only now I’m tempted to knit one for myself, LOL.

I’d have to unveil the latest news, amidst of all the “adulting” in recent months…I started a new job this week! Ever since my move (late March), I’ve been commuting back to my job of 18 years. I dearly loved this job, and all of my co-workers. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to swing doing it as a hybrid/remote position. Thus, I’ve spent the past several months going through the job search process (you know, because there hasn’t been enough stress with the plethora of life changes, LOL). Fortunately, I found an enticing position in much closer proximity to my new house (with a substantial pay raise!). I’m really excited about this new opportunity! The sunrise pic below was taken on one of my final morning drives. Kind of a beautiful send-off.

Another fun thing to tell you about is the brush with fame my Market to Market team is enjoying! Our team’s finish line pic was featured on the event’s website when registration opened a couple weeks ago. Let me know if you’re wanting an autographed pic, and I’ll rally the team.

Finally, on Halloween night, some of us dressed in costume for the weekly Thursday night group run. I mean, why not? I can’t say I’ve ever done a Halloween run in costume, but I’m always up for a fun adventure. If it’s with a bunch of fellow runner friends, all the better!

Anyways, those are a few things I’d bring to the virtual table if we were having a virtual coffee talk. I can always find stuff to chat about, LOL.
