Sweating out the “cold”

Let’s just say the weather wasn’t the only thing experiencing “cold” symptoms this week.

I’m not sure where it came from, but there was a vicious little bug (of some sort) trying to wreak havoc with my sinuses. It didn’t really keep me from moving and grooving, but it did test my patience. 

Alas, I persevered… Yadda 

We’re Up & Running!

Here we are, up and running in 2026!

This week was a busy one. We not only had 2025’s grand finale, but we also welcomed 2026’s arrival. Myself, I had several days (and a half day) of PTO, so my schedule was slightly off. Case in point, it felt like I had three Saturdays before the real Saturday arrived, LOL. My brain was so confused!

As per usual, the Midwest weather was a wild card. Nonetheless, it was a full week of fitness, fun and whatnot…

Coffee & Chatting? In 2026? Anyone?

…and, just like that, here we are in a new month, and a new year!

Our monthly coffee gathering is always a much needed break from our day-to-day stuff. This particular coffee date, though is on the tails of two holidays and several days of PTO from work. In fact, my brain is needing some caffeine to remember what actual day it is.

So, shall we have a quick coffee gathering and do some chatting?

A ‘Fession Finale for 2025

And, just like that, it’s our final ‘fession session for 2025. 

I’m not sure how we got here so quickly, but wowza. Time flies, huh!

The holiday spirit is going strong, and the craziness is getting real. Of course, we have the weather doing its ever unpredictable dance, but I guess that just keeps us on our toes (see what I did there?).

A Near White-Out

 

Okay, Momma N, enough is enough.

I don’t care show pretty the fluffy snowflakes look as they fall, ever so delicately, to the ground. I’ve seen far too many of them already. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the first official day of winter on December 21st? 

Newsflash: The calendar says we’re not there yet, LOL! I heard, mid-week, that Des Moines had already received over 12 inches of snow, which is what we would typically have by mid-January. Then we got another 2-3 inches Thursday evening and 5-6 inches Saturday…
