2024 - The Year in Bling

Show me the bling!

It’s no secret I love my races, and I love the bling that comes home with me. The medals not only represent all the blood, sweat, and (sometimes) tears that got me to the finish line, but also serve as great keepsakes.

The 2024 bling count isn’t as grandiose as in years past, but all is well. I had a lot of stuff going on with my houses (selling and buying), relocating, and the new job. My available time for proper training just wasn’t optimal, and many weekends were packed with other necessary tasks. Such was my reality, but I remained vertical, LOL.

The Year in Bling: 2023

The year was 2023.

It was a year of fun, and it was a year of challenges.

It also was a fabulous year of self-discovery, milestones conquered, new experiences and plenty of laughter along the way.

What's more? There's plenty of bling to show for it!

2022: The Year in Bling

I believe that every race has its own unique story.

Whether it's a challenge that was overcome, a reward for countless miles of grueling training, or a lesson learned about our own grit, determination and perseverance...every race is special. Even if it's a race you've run numerous times before, it's probably going to be a different experience each and every time you make your way to the finish line.

While most of us don't need medals to validate our love for running, they do make for nice keepsakes. Each year brings more adventure to myself and my running shoes, and 2022 was no exception.

Care to see the bling I brought home, this past year, and hear the stories behind the medals? Read on...

2021 Highlights: The Bling

2021 was an interesting year, especially in terms of racing.

Covid appeared to be dwindling, and many runners welcomed the return to live races. For myself, there wasn't as much racing, in comparison to previous years (with the exception of 2020), but all of my races were significant to me. A few were virtual, but the majority were in-person.

And I've got the bling to show for my efforts.

2020: Show Me The Bling

Should we talk about 2020 bling?

Or shall we discuss the lack thereof ?

It definitely was a year like none other. As much as I love my race bling, this year was a bit weak on the (live race) quantity...but the quality was on-point. It's been said that every picture tells a story, but I would argue that most medals would have a story as well (even the virtual ones).

Take a look...

Blinging It in 2019

The year was 2019, and it served me well.

Lots of races run, 19 in total. And, there was a nice haul of bling brought home.

Shall we play a quick game of Show and Tell?
