February ‘Fessions…just for fun

In the blink of an eye, February is on its way outta here.

Although it was a short month, it certainly packed a powerful punch. Thankfully, there was an abundance of sunshine, but there also were some extreme temperature swings.

In keeping with tradition, it wouldn’t be a jolly end-of-month send-off without a trip to the ‘Fessional. Even better, is sharing ones ‘fessions with a few (or several) ‘fession-worthy friends.

Are you game?

Let me start with a #FatFingerFession. I pride myself on being pretty detail-orientated. Imagine my surprise (horror?), several hours into Wednesday morning, when I realized I’d hit the “d” instead of the “s” when I posted my post-run story on Facebook. Yeah, I guess that proves just how human I really am, LOL

oops!

Again, can we talk about the weather? Here’s a #WeatherFession for you…it’s really been a guessing game nailing the proper gear for outdoor fitness this winter, and February was no exception. After 10 days of sub-ZERO temps, Momma N catapulted us into another week of fake spring temps and conditions. Seriously, we’re talking temps in the high-50’s!

Running in sorts, in February!

Speaking of weather, would it surprise you that I have a #WickedWindFession to share as well? I’ve said  before (too many times to count, LOL) that it seems like the wind is quite the annoying constant. Trying to go for a midday walk, on my lunch break, wreaks major havoc on my hair. I know, that’s a first world problem, but it’s my reality. I’m just grateful to have access to sidewalks with my office’s new location.

Can you say wind-blown?

With the Fight for Air Climb coming up (see what I did there?), I’m back to weekly stair workouts. On a whim, earlier this month, I added some flights with 8-pound dumbbells to the mix. Talk about an intensity boost (as if climbing 100 flights of stairs wasn’t already challenging enough). Yeah, I’ll just call that one a #FeelTheLowerBodyBurnFession and move on.

Why didn’t I think of this sooner?

Finally, I remembered to get outside and see the planets aligned across the early evening sky! I’ve had to miss most of the February evening group runs, so this was an extra special “reunion” of sorts. Growing up, I was always fascinated with astronomy, so this was a quite a sight to behold, in the company of fellow runners, on a clear night!. I can honestly say this #UnderThePlanetsFession is one I’m not the least bit ashamed of.

Can you see Venus?

Well, that’s quite a load of ‘fessions to dump on you, but it had to be done. Onward to March!

How about you? Do you have anything that needs ‘fessing among friends?

I’m linking this with Marcia and the Runfessions linkup.

  1. I runfess that even though our weather was much milder than yours, you got out much more than I did!

  2. We had that taste of spring this week and I was determined to make the most of it as well. Those stair workouts sound challenging. Have you thought about the weighted vest?

    1. Yes, I’ve thought about the vest but have not acted on it …

  3. Our weather has been crazy - so much wind and I forget that it makes it colder. I've been under dressed and overdressed. Can't wait for summer.

I runfess that sometimes I don't run on a day if I need my hair to look good. It looks awful after being shoved into a hat.

  4. The wind was absolutely relentless this month! We're supposed to get a taste of spring temps next week and I can't wait!

  5. I runfess that I am jealous of your fake spring! I'm also happy with the mild run of 30-40ish degrees that we've had this week before things get cold again.

Hey bike season will be here soon and then there will be riding with the shining!

  6. I completely forgot to go look at the sky! Bummer! I am also struggling with what to wear. It's in the 80s and then in the 30s. Stop it.

    1. We’ve been blessed with clear skies most of this week. Max & I caught a lengthy look last night (I don’t think he was as impressed as I was).
