And, just like that, it’s our final ‘fession session for 2025.
I’m not sure how we got here so quickly, but wowza. Time flies, huh!
Anyways, here’s a few final ‘fessions for the year…
Let me start by rolloutfessing that my goal of daily ab rollouts was a bit lofty. After the first 18 days (give or take), I made the command decision to do those 10 daily rollouts every-other day instead. I have noticed I can roll-out a bit farther than when I first started, but I can’t say I’m enjoying them, LOL. I do plan to keep them in my fitness regimen, I just won’t be doing them as frequently.
The weather. Yes, this Midwest weather has been a doozy ever since Thanksgiving. Tons of snow for three consecutive weekends and now it’s all gone, with nothing in sight. Let me snowfess, I was okay with a brown Christmas since two of my kiddos were traveling from out-of-state.
Running in shorts, anyone? The weather in Iowa, in late December nonetheless, will seldom allow for running bare-legged outdoors. Given the fact that the temps had been sub-freezing (with sub-ZERO windchill), the recent mid-40F range temps were a bit of a shock. Suffice it to say, I had to take full advantage and ditch the leggings a couple of times during Christmas Week. I must runfess, it was quite blissful and euphoric.
I’ve been keeping busy in the kitchen this month. There’s been a couple batches of Kringle (a Norwegian sweet soft pretzel-type of cookie). I’ve also made Christmas Crack (very appropriately named) and a few other sweet treats as well. I hosted my family (three kiddos, their significant others, my parents and sister) for Christmas dinner. I was totally on-point with pre-baking and food prepping this year, hence the ham balls were ready two days in advance (pictured below). Yes, I can bakefess the procrastination bug didn’t affect my time in the kitchen (some of the other holiday tasks were a different story, LOL).

Finally, can we talk about the great daily game of Wordle again? Recently the word “myrrh” had me totally stumped (can you just see the irony, given the Christmas season?). There have been other words, though, where I’ve gotten lucky with random guesses. All told, I can honestly Wordlefess the game still has me hooked, although I’m not sure my vocabulary has really expanded much.
Alas, these are my final ‘fessions of 2025. I guess they will have to do as we prepare to usher in the new year and wish a sincere goodbye to December.
You’ve heard my final ‘fessions for 2025, do you have any?
I'm linking this with Marcia for the monthly Runfessions link-up

Oh, I remember "Myrrh"... I had used all my vowels and was totally stumped. Until I got it in the last row and earned a "phew". 😅
ReplyDeleteThat ab-roller thing is hard! We did it at Crossfit the other day and I really struggled.
I "forgotfess" and almost texted you the other day to ask if I'd mentioned any runfessions in the past few weeks that I hadn't written down when I was trying to write my post. LOL
ReplyDeleteI quit doing Wordle quite a while ago and keep forgetting to start it back up.
That midwest weather meme is funny!
There were a few texts with friends about MRrrh! I do love the daily challenge of it and also connections, and the daily crossword. Have not used that ab roller in ages but I do love the daily Peloton core classes to keep me motivated.
ReplyDeleteI missed Wordle on myrrh day — probably was baking something.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been all over the place this week — from 50s Christmas Eve morning to upper 20s this morning!
I do wordle, connections and strands everyday but luckily I missed myrrh day.
ReplyDeleteWeather has been so windy and cold... and a snowstorm is coming tonight. Boo.
Don't ask me how I got myrrh in 3 but I did. Its rare they have a seasonal word like that! We are mild here now but we still have plenty of large snowy glacial deposits to show for the previously gotten snow.
