Carpe Diem; Seize the Coffee

As the saying goes, carpe diem.

Seize the day, and seize the drink...just make sure you grab something warm.

Holy frigid freeze-out, Batman! It's been cold, even by Iowa standards. It's a good thing I have a hearty supply of chai on hand. Rest assured, I'm drinking it hot (I can't imagine drinking anything on ice, given the current sub-ZERO feels-like weather conditions).

Anyways, it's that time of the month for gathering and chatting over coffee (or any beverage of choice). I have my chai latte' in hand and a few things to share...

A Solo Virtual 13.1...some thoughts

As the saying goes, "I can do hard things."

And, once in awhile, I can do said hard things on my own and with a smile.

Case in point: The Key West Half Marathon. I chose to run it virtually, on my own, mostly in the o'dark hours, sans friends or course support. And, I finished with a crazy dose of finish line endorphins, believe it or not.

BRRRing It!

This week? Brrr, things got cold!

There was frost on the ground every morning (which does look quite magical and sparkly in the o'dark thirty hours) and the wind kept us humble. Thankfully, Momma N sprinkled in plenty of sunshine and kept the rain (and snow, LOL) away.

Alas, all those cold temps rewarded us with all kinds of beautiful color, courtesy of the trees. So it wasn't all bad.
