As per usual, lots of stuff has been happening, in the running shoes and otherwise. We stay "young" by staying active, right? At least that's my theory.
So, June is winding down. Let's get this Runfession party started...
Let me start off by runfessing that my sleep has been even more wonky than usual. I've never been a napper (as if I'd even have the time). Lately, though, I have come home from work, and reclined myself on the couch, "for a mere few minutes," only to wake up 30ish minutes later. Yikes. Last Friday, again, I closed my eyes for a quick 20-minutes of rest (this time it was around 7:30 p.m.), only to wake up at 11:30. The hubby and I went upstairs to get ready for bed, and I realized it actually was 1:30 a.m.! Wow, that's like a full night of sleep for me, and I hadn't even gotten my pj's on yet.
We all know I'm head-over-heels in love with summer. I love the extended daylight (especially for my #5at5 runs). I'm ecstatic for the warm days, even the excessively hot and humid ones. It's a given that I'd choose a hot summer run any day, ANY DAY, over a snowy sub-freezing one. But, can I runfess that even I'd appreciate a tiny bit of an acclimation period? We had a long winter (which lasted pretty much through the first half of "spring"). It was followed by a cold and miserably rainy spring. That didn't leave much time for prepping for the elusive summer temps that we all knew would eventually arrive. None the less, I'm glad summer is here!
|Can you see him on my knee?|
So, that's all I got for June.
How about you? Anything you'd runfess? Did summer arrive (practically) overnight in your area, too? Are you embracing the summer temps, or are you already dreading them? Any other adult ortho patients out there?
