Mayfessing...

Well here we are again...or is it just me?

Another month, and a few more 'fessions to disclose.

Shall we get this 'fession party started?

Allow me to begin with a big one...I Mayfess that I've come to realize this is my favorite time of the year. ((gasp)) As much as I adore the heat of summer, this particular time of year allows me a preview of summer heat before it gets too hot. Not only that, but (currently) I have almost 15 hours of daylight at my fingertips...with the promise of even more to come. Total bliss? I think so!

Almost two weeks ago, Allison and Barb joined me for my 13th consecutive full moon run. There have been a few of these runs where one or the other had to miss, and there have been a few where I had to run solo...but I've been able to keep this streak alive and well for an entire year! I gotta Mayfess, it really has been a fun monthly ritual, and it wasn't difficult to commit to doing. A bonus? I think we've had clear skies for all but a couple of these runs.

With the warmer weather, I have been able to take my biking back to the streets. Wow, let me Mayfess how much I have missed this routine! And those sunrise rides? I think my new bike, Krystal, may be enjoying them almost as much as I am. Although the temps feel a bit chillier on the bike, than they do on foot, those early morning #optoutside outings set the tone for the entire day.

Speaking of biking...a few friends, and myself, are planning a century ride this summer! After last summer's 20 out-and-back (weekly) rides on the hilly bike path, the metric century (late September), and almost a 90-mile day for RAGBRAI...I Mayfess that I simply have to join the Century Club. I mean, wouldn't you? Ironically, just this week, I passed the 1,000 mile mark with my biking for 2022. Why stop now?

In non-running news, the youngest daughter gifted me a Sudoku book for Mother's Day. These number games usually are easy-peasy (until I attempt the highest level-of-difficulty ones, LOL). Well, I Mayfess, my ego took a hit this week. I got stuck on a "medium" level puzzle, and I just could not find those key random squares that, once solved, make the game go quickly. UGH. First world probs!

So, that's that. Another set of 'fessions done and dusted. I can now cruise through the long weekend, worry free (lucky me).

Your turn...
Do you have anything to runfess? Ever done a century ride? Or ever wanted to? Have you ever gotten totally stumped at a "relatively easy" game, like Sudoku? Full moon running...yay, or no way?

  1. We keep zooming from chilly to boiling hot so my favorite May temperatures really haven't materialized. A happy medium would be great!

  3. The long daylight at this time of year is everything! I sure wish the temps would moderate though. I love your full moon run tradition!

  4. I'm definitely a word person and not a number person- the thought of sudoku makes me want to run away screaming. To be honest, so does the thought of a century ride. I wish I liked cycling! I really do! But I just can't get into it. However- I'm excited at the thought of YOU doing a century ride, and can't wait to hear all about it!

    1. We talked of doing a century ride last summer, but not until late in the summer. By then, we were losing daylight, so we'd be starting in the near dark morning hours and ending just before the late afternoon light faded. We're on it this year!

  5. I prefer Wordle.

I have a bike and really do not enjoy it. Glad you do!!

I am loving all the daylight.

Yes the heat and humidity suck the life out of you but I am embracing the walk!!

    1. I play Wordle, too, and Word Hurdle (which has 6-letter words). Those are fun, and really challenging on some days!

  6. Sorry you got stuck! I've stayed away from Wordle, but my husband has shared a couple of different games he plays in addition to Wordle, so I finally did them today.

I'm not at all surprised that you want to do a century ride!

I'm an early to bed gal, so that's a big no on the full moon runs, but it does sound like fun! Pretty amazing that you've kept the streak going.

    1. It was really humbling to get stuck, especially so early in the game, LOL.

  7. I used to do Suduko and now I am a wordle fan. We need to get you on that! You are totally up for a century ride! The longest I ever did was the metric century 65 ish miles and that was enough in the August heat!

    1. Oh, I am a Wordle gal, I just don't post/share all of my conquests on social media. I'm really excited for the century ride!

  8. It's great that you've been able to keep your full moon streak going. While I've not been a fan of the weather whiplash, I do love all the extra daylight!

  9. We did a century once. Not sure we will do another but never say never! We’re basically doing a metric next weekend if it’s not too hot.

I haven’t done Sodoku in ages. I used to have a great app but I think the creator stopped updating it.

  10. 15 hours of daylight? I guess that does sound about right. It is awesome! You are definitely ready for your century ride.

  11. I MAYfess that I cannot get into Sudoku. Never say never! But yeah I'm a word person
I totally agree re: May being a preview. I love the long daylight and balmy afternoons. Can we just have fall in the mornings?
